The State Key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy has 77 researchers, including 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 7 outstanding scholars, 6 winners of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 7 distinguished professors of Changjiang Scholars Program, and 57 professors. Facing the urgent demand of new materials for national defense and economic construction, the laboratory has provided hundreds of special powder metallurgy materials for the key projects and strategic weapons. The developed high-performance carbon\/carbon brake materials have promoted China to become the fourth country capable of producing such materials, and won the first prize of National Technology Invention, which has been vacant for 6 consecutive years, this material has been successfully produced in Hunan Boyun New Materials Co., Ltd and applied to the C919 giant aircraft. The developed powder metallurgy copper carbon sealing ring has been successfully applied to the new-generation liquid oxygen kerosene engine of our country, ensuring the successful launch of Long March 5, 6 and 7 carrier rockets. The laboratory has successively completed more than 500 national research projects such as the National 863 Program, the National 973 Program and the National Key Research and Development Program, and won more than 60 national and provincial science and technology awards, including 3 first prizes of National Award for Technological Invention and National Award for Progress in Science and Technology, and obtained more than 300 invention patents. And it is regarded as a comprehensive base for high-level scientific research, talent training, cooperation and exchange of powder metallurgy in China.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
The National Engineering Research Center of Powder Metallurgy has gathered a strong scientific research team, including two academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 3 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions, 18 professors, and 29 doctors, and also cultivated a large number of high-level innovation and entrepreneurship talents, developed a number of core manufacturing technologies that fully own our country’s independent intellectual property rights, and accumulated valuable human capital and technical capital for China’s new material field. The main products and technology areas in the engineering research center include aircraft brake materials, automotive brake materials, injection molding technology and relevant products, and extrusion forming technology and relevant products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In recent years, the engineering research center has built an incubator of 15,000 square meters and an industrialization base of 90,000 square meters, five production lines and related facilities\u00a0and set up four holding companies.\u00a0By combining the functions of the incubator and the multidisciplinary advantages of Central South University, the engineering research center has achieved engineering and integration, and solved a series of industrial technology bottlenecks that restrict key new materials and parts in aviation, automobile and related manufacturing industries in our country.\u00a0The constructed pilot production line and industrialization base \u00a0are continuously providing batch of key new materials and parts for the strategic security and transforming resource advantages into economic advantages, and especially for the purpose of enhancing the core competitiveness of the fast-growing manufacturing industry in China.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
